All classes are online via Blackboard in 2023-2024 School Year. The on-site program is designed as an alternative only for elementary school students in 1st, 2nd & 3rd grade.

What are the benefits for students?

The goal is to have heritage students eventually reach advanced level on the A.C.T.F.L Proficiency Scale by middle school graduation. This takes approximately 8 years of heritage language study for most students.

Students must successfully complete the Bulgarian Heritage Language Classes in order to see the following benefits:

• Access to high school and college credits through AP coursework at the Bulgarian School of Seattle. Students learn to effectively express themselves in Bulgarian both conversationally and in an academic setting. Many students will qualify for the Global Seal of Biliteracy (after taking ALTA at the Bulgarian School provided by the Association of Bulgarian Schools in America (ABSA) & the Washington State Seal of Biliteracy .
